Possible Causes
Moisture ingress into control panel, Worn or damaged keypad membrane, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and PCB, Faulty touch sensor IC on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before removing the control panel.
- Dry the panel: If condensation or water has spilled on the control area, allow the unit to dry completely for several hours with the lid open.
- Inspect cable connections: Remove the front or top panel to access the keypad or touch board. Reseat the ribbon cable or connector to the main PCB.
- Check for damage: Look for cracks in the control panel, corrosion on connectors, or burnt components on the small keypad PCB.
- Test button response: With the panel reconnected and power restored, test each button. If some work and others do not, the keypad membrane is likely failing.
- Replace keypad or panel: Replace the complete control panel or keypad PCB assembly as supplied by Severin. Ensure the gasket or seal is intact to prevent future moisture ingress.
