E1
Ice maker stops shortly after start, compressor does not run, fan may run briefly, E1 shown on display.
Evaporator Temperature Sensor Failure
E2
Unit powers on, fan may run, but compressor does not start and E2 appears on the display.
Compressor Overload or Start Circuit Fault
E3
Ice maker runs briefly, then stops with E3 displayed; ice shovel or ice tray does not move correctly.
Ice Shovel / Agitator Motor Position Error
E4
Display shows E4 and the unit stops; water level in the reservoir is normal but the machine will not start an ice cycle.
Water Level Sensor / Float Switch Error
E5
E5 appears on the display, unit may start but stops quickly, ice size is inconsistent or no ice is produced.
Ice Thickness / Harvest Sensor Fault
E6
E6 displayed, fan does not run or runs erratically, unit overheats or shuts down quickly.
Condenser Fan Motor Fault
E7
E7 error appears, unit may beep continuously, ice basket full indicator behaves erratically.
Ice Bin Full Sensor / Infrared Sensor Fault
E8
E8 displayed, unit does not start ice cycle, water pump does not run or runs dry.
Water Pump Circuit Fault
E9
E9 error, unit powers but no functions respond correctly, random beeping or frozen display.
Control PCB Communication or Memory Error
FULL
Display shows 'FULL' or ice full icon, unit stops making ice even when the ice basket is not full.
False Ice Bin Full Detection
H1
H1 or 'HI' displayed, unit stops making ice, fan may run but compressor cycles off quickly.
High Temperature / Overheat Protection
LO
Display shows 'LO' or low water icon, beeping, unit will not start ice cycle even though reservoir appears to have water.
Low Water Detection Fault
Symptom
Display lights up but buttons do not respond or respond intermittently.
Keypad / Touch Control Failure
Symptom
Display segments are missing or unreadable, but unit still seems to operate.
Partial Display Failure
Symptom
Evaporator plate ices up excessively and does not release ice during harvest; ice remains stuck to plate.
Harvest Cycle Failure
Symptom
Fan runs but compressor never starts; no cooling, no error code displayed.
Compressor Start Circuit Failure (Silent)
Symptom
Ice cubes have an unusual taste or odor, even when fresh.
Contaminated Water Path
Symptom
Ice cubes stick together in large clumps in the basket.
Ice Clumping Due to Melt and Refreeze
Symptom
Ice maker does not power on at all; no lights, no display, no sound.
No Power / Primary Power Supply Failure
Symptom
Ice maker frequently pauses with beeping but resumes after lid is opened and closed.
Lid / Door Switch or Sensor Issue
Symptom
Ice maker frequently trips the household circuit breaker or blows fuses.
Electrical Overload or Short Circuit
Symptom
Ice maker overfills the ice basket; ice continues to be produced even when basket is full.
Ice Level Detection Failure (No Shutoff)
Symptom
Ice maker produces ice very slowly; takes much longer than specified to fill the basket.
Reduced Cooling Efficiency
Symptom
Ice maker produces very small, hollow, or soft ice bullets even after long operation.
Insufficient Cooling Capacity or Short Freeze Cycle
Symptom
Ice maker runs but makes loud rattling or vibrating noises during operation.
Mechanical Vibration or Loose Component
Symptom
Ice maker runs but produces no ice at all; compressor may run, fan may run, but evaporator plate does not get cold.
Refrigerant Loss or Sealed System Failure
Symptom
Ice maker runs but water does not flow over the evaporator; no water sound, no ice formation.
Water Circulation Failure
Symptom
Ice maker runs continuously without cycling properly; ice size does not change and machine does not enter harvest mode.
Control Logic or Sensor Input Stuck
Symptom
Ice maker starts a cycle then shuts off unexpectedly after a few minutes without any error code.
Intermittent Power or Thermal Protection Trip
Symptom
Loud grinding or clicking noise when the ice shovel or tray moves; sometimes ice jams and cycle stops.
Ice Shovel Gearbox or Mechanism Damage
Symptom
Unit emits a burning smell or visible smoke during operation.
Overheating Electrical Component
Symptom
Unit is excessively hot to the touch on the sides or top during operation.
Overheating Cabinet Due to Poor Heat Rejection
Symptom
Visible white or greenish scale buildup on evaporator plate and in water reservoir; ice production reduced.
Limescale and Mineral Deposit Accumulation
Symptom
Water drips continuously into the ice basket, causing ice to melt and refreeze into a solid block.
Water Distribution Tray Overflow or Misalignment
Symptom
Water leaks from the bottom of the Severin ice maker onto the countertop or floor.
Internal Water Leak
