Ice Clumping Due to Melt and Refreeze
Ice cubes stick together in large clumps in the basket.

Possible Causes
Ice left in basket for long periods, Poor ventilation around unit causing warm air ingress, Water dripping into basket from above, Ice basket not draining meltwater properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspecting the basket and drain.
- Empty clumped ice: Discard large clumps and allow the basket to dry.
- Check basket drainage: Ensure the ice basket has open holes and is not blocked by scale or debris, so meltwater can drain back to the reservoir.
- Inspect for dripping: Look for water dripping from the evaporator or water tray into the basket (see water tray overflow fault). Correct any misalignment.
- Use ice promptly: Transfer ice to a freezer if you need to store it. Countertop ice makers are not freezers; ice will slowly melt and refreeze into clumps.
- Improve room conditions: Keep the unit away from drafts of warm air and direct sunlight.
