Possible Causes

Blocked condenser airflow, Failed condenser fan, High ambient room temperature, Overheated compressor or faulty thermal sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes before further inspection.

  • Improve ventilation: Move the Severin ice maker to a cooler location away from direct sunlight, ovens, or radiators. Ensure at least 10–15 cm clearance on all sides and back.
  • Clean condenser: Remove the rear cover and gently clean dust from the condenser coil with a soft brush or vacuum. A clogged condenser greatly reduces cooling efficiency.
  • Check fan operation: Confirm the condenser fan runs whenever the compressor is on. If it does not, see the fan motor fault steps (E6).
  • Check ambient temperature: Many countertop ice makers are designed for operation below 32°C ambient. If the room is hotter, the unit may repeatedly show H1.
  • Inspect thermal sensor: Some models use a thermal cutoff or sensor on the compressor or condenser. Ensure it is firmly attached and wiring is intact.
  • Restart after cooling: Once the unit and room have cooled and airflow is improved, plug in and start a new cycle. If H1 returns quickly, suspect a failing compressor or temperature sensor and consider professional service.
