Possible Causes
Dirty condenser coil, High ambient temperature, Weak compressor, Incorrect ice size setting or control PCB timing fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning the condenser or internal parts.
- Improve environment: Move the Severin ice maker to a cooler room away from heat sources. Ideal ambient temperature is typically 10–32°C.
- Clean condenser: Remove the rear cover and gently clean dust from the condenser coil and fan area to improve heat dissipation.
- Check ventilation: Ensure adequate clearance around the unit for airflow.
- Adjust ice size: Set the ice size to a larger setting (L) and allow several cycles for the change to take effect.
- Run multiple cycles: New or recently moved units may need several cycles to stabilize. Discard the first 1–2 batches of ice.
- Assess compressor performance: If the evaporator plate does not frost evenly or warms quickly between cycles, the compressor may be weak. This typically requires professional diagnosis and may not be economical to repair.
