Possible Causes
Dust-clogged condenser, Failing condenser fan, High ambient temperature, Partial refrigerant loss or capillary restriction
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels.
- Check ambient conditions: Ensure the room temperature is within the recommended range and the unit is not near heat sources.
- Clean condenser and fan: Remove the rear cover and clean the condenser fins and fan blades. Verify the fan spins freely and runs whenever the compressor is on.
- Check door/lid seal: Make sure the lid closes properly to reduce warm air entering the ice-making chamber.
- Allow recovery time: If you frequently remove large amounts of ice, allow the unit time to recover. Continuous opening of the lid slows production.
- Monitor frost pattern: After 15–20 minutes of operation, inspect the evaporator plate. It should have an even frost pattern. If only a small section frosts, there may be a partial refrigerant issue requiring professional service.
