Possible Causes
Closed or kinked water supply line, Clogged inlet water filter screen, Defective Siemens water inlet valve coil, Low household water pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the water supply and disconnect power before working on the water circuit.
Water supply checks:
- Verify water tap: Ensure the dedicated shutoff valve to the ice maker is fully open. If connected via a saddle valve, confirm it is not clogged or partially closed.
- Inspect hose: Pull the unit forward and check the Siemens water inlet hose for kinks, crushing, or leaks. Straighten or replace as needed.
- Clean inlet screen: Turn off water, disconnect the hose from the rear inlet valve. Inspect the small metal or plastic filter screen inside the valve fitting. Rinse debris under running water and reinstall.
- Test inlet valve coil: With power disconnected, remove the rear panel to access the water inlet valve. Disconnect the electrical connectors and measure coil resistance with a multimeter. An open coil indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
- Check water pressure: Briefly open the supply hose into a bucket to confirm a strong flow. Weak flow suggests a plumbing issue rather than an appliance fault.
Note: After replacing the inlet valve, run and discard the first batch of ice to flush any debris.
