Possible Causes

Failed ice ejector motor, Jammed ejector rake or fingers, Broken gear in harvest motor assembly, Faulty position sensor or switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before reaching into the ice compartment.

Clearing jams and testing ejector:

  • Inspect ice tray: Remove the ice bin and look at the ice tray and ejector rake. Remove any large clumps or fused ice with a plastic tool.
  • Check for broken parts: Look for cracked plastic gears, bent ejector fingers, or loose screws on the Siemens ice maker module.
  • Manual rotation: With power off, gently try to rotate the ejector rake. It should move with some resistance. If completely seized, the motor or gearbox may be damaged.
  • Test motor: Access the ice maker module wiring and check for proper voltage during a harvest cycle (refer to service manual). If voltage is present but the motor does not run, replace the ice maker motor module.

Note: Some Siemens models require replacing the entire ice maker assembly rather than individual motor components.
