Possible Causes
Defective cabinet thermistor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Damaged wiring harness, Control board analog input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before removing interior panels.
Sensor diagnosis:
- Locate cabinet sensor: Typically mounted on the interior wall or behind a small plastic cover in the ice storage area.
- Inspect physically: Check for moisture intrusion, cracks, or broken wires. Dry any condensation around the sensor.
- Check resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Siemens specifications. An open or shorted reading indicates a failed sensor.
- Replace sensor: Install a new cabinet thermistor, routing the wires along the original path and securing them away from moving parts.
After replacement: Clear the error by disconnecting power for several minutes, then restart the unit.
