Possible Causes
Clogged drain hose, Blocked internal drain channel, Failed drain pump motor, Improper drain hose installation (too high or kinked)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and, if possible, turn off the water supply. Be prepared for water spillage when opening drain components.
Steps to clear the fault:
- Inspect external drain hose: Ensure the hose is not kinked, pinched, or routed higher than the maximum recommended height. Straighten or reroute as needed.
- Check for clogs: Detach the drain hose from the house drain and blow through it or flush with warm water to clear any blockage.
- Clean internal drain: Remove the ice bin and internal panels to access the drain channel. Clear any ice, scale, or debris using warm water and a soft brush.
- Test drain pump: Locate the drain pump at the base of the unit. Check for obstructions in the impeller housing. Spin the impeller by hand; it should move freely. Test the motor coil for continuity. Replace the drain pump if the motor is open or seized.
- Re-test: Reassemble, restore power, and run a cleaning or drain cycle to confirm proper operation and that the E06 code clears.
