- Empty bin: Discard all existing ice.
- Clean interior: Wash the bin, walls, and internal components with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
- Run cleaning cycle: Use SMEG-recommended ice maker cleaner and sanitizer, following the manual. Ensure a full rinse cycle is completed.
- Flush water line: Disconnect the supply hose and flush several liters of water through it before reconnecting.
- Avoid harsh chemicals: Do not use bleach or scented cleaners unless specifically allowed, as residues can affect taste.
