Possible Causes
Loose or cracked water inlet hose, Leaking water inlet valve body, Split internal hose, Blocked or disconnected drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the water supply immediately. Wipe up spilled water to prevent slipping.
Leak tracing:
- Inspect rear connections: Pull the SMEG ice maker away from the wall and check the inlet hose connection at both the wall and the valve. Tighten or replace as needed.
- Check drain hose: Ensure the drain hose is securely attached and not cracked. Replace if brittle or leaking.
- Internal inspection: Remove the lower front or rear panel and look for drips while briefly turning the water supply back on (power still off). Replace any cracked internal hoses or the inlet valve if it leaks from the body.
- Test after repair: Dry all areas, restore water and power, and monitor for leaks during a full ice-making cycle.
