Possible Causes
Failed LED/LCD display board, Loose ribbon cable between display and main PCB, Low 5V/12V supply from power board, Cracked display panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before opening the control panel.
- Check for backlight: In a dark room, look closely at the display while the unit is on. A faint glow may indicate a logic issue rather than total failure.
- Access control panel: Remove the screws securing the front/top panel to expose the display PCB.
- Inspect connections: Reseat any ribbon cables or connectors between the display and main control board.
- Look for damage: Check the display board for cracks, burnt components, or corrosion.
If reseating cables does not restore the display, the display module or main control board will likely need replacement. The unit can sometimes still operate using basic buttons, but you will lack status information.
