Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and drain the reservoir before accessing the sensor.
- Locate the water temperature sensor: Typically a small probe or thermistor mounted in the side or bottom of the water reservoir with two wires leading to the control board.
- Check mounting and contact: Ensure the sensor is fully immersed in water during operation and not hanging above the water line. Re-seat it in its grommet or bracket.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracks in the sensor body or cuts in the wiring. Replace if damaged.
- Reconnect and test: Refill with fresh water, plug in, and start a cycle. Monitor for recurrence of E8.
If the error returns and wiring is intact, replace the water temperature sensor. If a new sensor does not resolve the issue, the control PCB may be defective.
