Possible Causes
Blocked or dirty ice full infrared sensor, Misaligned sensor bracket, Faulty ice full sensor, Stuck mechanical ice full arm (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before cleaning sensors or moving internal parts.
- Empty and reposition basket: Remove the ice basket, empty it, and reinstall it correctly so it sits flat and does not block the sensor.
- Clean sensor lenses: Wipe the small dark plastic windows on each side of the ice chute or above the basket with a soft, damp cloth.
- Check for obstructions: Ensure no ice pieces or plastic parts are lodged near the sensor or ice chute.
- Mechanical arm models: If your Swan ice maker uses a swing arm to detect ice level, gently move the arm up and down to confirm it is not jammed. Clean any ice or scale buildup.
- Restart: Plug in and restart the unit. Observe whether the 'ICE FULL' indicator clears.
If the indicator remains on, the ice full sensor or arm switch may be defective and require replacement.
