Possible Causes
Warm air leakage around lid, Fan not circulating cold air into storage area, High ambient temperature, Thermostat or sensor misreading storage temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before adjusting seals or accessing internal fans.
- Check lid/door seal: Inspect the gasket around the lid for gaps, warping, or debris. Clean the seal and mating surface with warm soapy water and dry.
- Minimise lid opening: Frequent opening allows warm air in. Keep the lid closed during operation as much as possible.
- Verify fan operation: Some Swan models use a fan to move cold air. Listen for airflow near the ice storage area. If silent and no air movement is felt, the fan may be faulty.
- Reduce room temperature: Operate the unit in a cooler environment to reduce melt rate.
Note that many countertop ice makers, including Swan models, are designed to keep ice cool but not fully frozen like a freezer. Some melting and recycling of water is normal.
