Possible Causes

Clogged inlet filter screen, kinked inlet hose, low household water pressure (for plumbed Tower models), scaled water distributor, failing inlet valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off the water supply and unplug the unit before disconnecting any water lines.

  • Check reservoir level: For manual-fill models, ensure the reservoir is filled to the proper mark. For plumbed models, verify the supply valve is fully open.
  • Inspect inlet hose: Look for kinks or sharp bends in the water inlet hose. Straighten or reroute as needed.
  • Clean inlet filter: Disconnect the hose at the back of the unit and remove any small mesh filter screen. Rinse under running water to remove sediment.
  • Clean water distributor: Access the top water distributor tray above the evaporator. Remove and clean mineral deposits from the holes using a soft brush and vinegar solution.
  • Test inlet valve (if equipped): With the unit unplugged, measure coil resistance of the inlet valve. If open or shorted, replace the water inlet valve.
  • Restore and test: Reconnect hoses, turn on water, plug in, and run a cycle to verify normal fill and that E11 does not return.
