Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation grills, condenser fan not running, unit placed in ambient temperature above specification, clogged condenser coil, faulty temperature sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning or accessing internal components.
- Check installation location: Ensure the Tower ice maker is not installed in a closed cabinet or near heat sources (ovens, radiators, direct sunlight). Ambient temperature should be within the range specified in the manual.
- Clear ventilation: Make sure all side and rear vents are unobstructed. Move the unit away from walls if necessary.
- Clean condenser and fan: Remove the rear panel and gently clean dust from the condenser coil and fan blades using a soft brush or vacuum.
- Verify fan operation: Briefly power the unit and confirm the condenser fan starts when the compressor runs. If not, unplug and replace the condenser fan motor.
- Sensor check: If E13 persists despite good airflow, test the ambient or internal overheat sensor per service data and replace if out of spec.
