Possible Causes

Short between sensor wires, multiple NTC sensors out of range, damaged sensor harness bundle, control PCB ADC failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before working on wiring or sensors.

  • Inspect harness bundle: Locate the main sensor harness running from the evaporator and cabinet area to the control PCB. Check for pinched, cut, or melted sections.
  • Disconnect sensors one by one: With the unit unplugged, disconnect each sensor (cabinet, evaporator, ambient, thickness) from the PCB and inspect connectors for corrosion.
  • Test each sensor: Measure resistance of each NTC sensor at room temperature and compare to spec. Replace any that are out of range.
  • Check for shorts: Use a multimeter to check for continuity between sensor signal wires and ground or each other. Repair or replace the harness if a short is found.
  • Replace PCB: If all sensors and wiring are good but E17 remains, the main control PCB’s sensor input circuitry is likely faulty and should be replaced.
