Possible Causes
Stuck-open drain valve, failed drain solenoid coil, debris in drain valve seat, damaged wiring to drain valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and turn off water supply before servicing the drain system.
- Locate drain valve: Access the underside or rear of the unit to find the drain valve/solenoid assembly connected to the drain hose.
- Inspect for leaks and debris: Check the valve body for cracks and remove any visible debris from the valve seat.
- Test solenoid coil: Disconnect the solenoid wires and measure coil resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed solenoid that must be replaced.
- Manually operate valve: If possible, manually move the valve plunger to ensure it is not stuck. Clean with warm water if mineral buildup is present.
- Replace assembly: If the valve is cracked, leaking, or the solenoid is open, replace the drain valve/solenoid assembly with a Tower-compatible part.
