Possible Causes
Failed ice full sensor, blocked or misaligned IR sensor, broken bin arm, control PCB not reading sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the bin sensor.
- Clean sensor: For IR-type sensors, clean the emitter and receiver lenses and ensure they are aligned across the bin.
- Check mechanical arm: If equipped, verify the bin full arm moves freely and actuates the internal switch when raised by ice.
- Test sensor: Use a multimeter to test the bin full switch or follow service instructions for IR sensor testing. Replace the sensor assembly if it does not change state when blocked/unblocked.
- Control PCB: If a known-good sensor is installed but the unit still ignores bin full, replace the main control PCB.
