E8 is displayed and the unit stops; water may not be circulating over the evaporator.

Steps to address E8:

• Check water level: Ensure the reservoir is filled to the correct level. Low water can cause the pump to run dry and trigger errors.
• Inspect pump intake: Remove the ice basket and access the water tray. Look for debris blocking the pump inlet or water distribution tube. Clean thoroughly.
• Bleed air from pump: Tilt the unit slightly forward and backward to help release trapped air from the pump housing, then restart.
• Access the pump: Remove the lower or rear panel to reach the Tristar water circulation pump. Check wiring and connectors.
• Test the pump: With power disconnected, measure resistance across the pump terminals. An open circuit indicates failure. If qualified, you can briefly power the pump with the correct voltage to confirm operation.
• Replace if faulty: Install a new circulation pump, ensuring all hoses are securely clamped and there are no leaks.
• Reassemble and test: Refill the reservoir, restore power, and run a cycle to verify water flows over the evaporator and E8 is cleared.
