Possible Causes
Seized condenser fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Loose fan wiring connector, Failed fan driver circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before accessing the rear panel and fan area.
Steps:
- 1. Access fan: Remove the rear cover to expose the condenser fan and motor.
- 2. Check for obstructions: Remove any dust, plastic, or wiring that may be blocking the fan blades. Spin the blades by hand; they should rotate freely.
- 3. Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan motor connector is fully seated on the harness and there are no broken wires.
- 4. Test operation: Briefly plug in and start a cycle while observing the fan (keep fingers clear). If the fan does not start but the compressor does, the motor may be bad.
- 5. Replace fan motor: Remove the mounting screws and install a new Vremi condenser fan motor. Transfer the fan blade if necessary and ensure correct rotation direction.
Note: Operating the unit without a working fan can quickly overheat the compressor and cause further damage.
