Possible Causes

Stuck mechanical float, Faulty water level sensor switch, Mineral buildup on float mechanism, Disconnected or damaged float switch wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the ice maker and remove the water reservoir before working inside the unit.

How to troubleshoot:

  • 1. Remove and clean the reservoir: Take out the water tank and rinse thoroughly. Check for debris that could interfere with the float or sensor.
  • 2. Locate the float/sensor: In most Vremi countertop ice makers, the water level is detected by a float arm or a magnetic float in a tube near the reservoir or pump intake.
  • 3. Free a stuck float: Move the float up and down by hand. It should move smoothly. If it sticks, clean the area with warm water and a mild descaling solution to remove mineral deposits.
  • 4. Inspect wiring: Follow the float switch wires to the control board. Ensure the connector is fully seated and wires are not broken or pinched.
  • 5. Electrical test: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the float switch and test continuity with a multimeter while moving the float. The switch should open and close as the float moves. If it stays open or closed, the switch is defective.
  • 6. Replace faulty parts: Install a new Vremi water level float switch assembly if the switch fails testing or the float is damaged. Reassemble and test the unit.

Tip: Regular descaling of the water path helps prevent float sticking and E3 errors.
