Possible Causes

Heavy scale on evaporator, Incorrect water temperature, Faulty ice thickness sensor, Weak harvest motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning or adjusting sensors.

Steps:

  • 1. Descale evaporator: Apply a 1:1 vinegar and water solution to the evaporator plate with a cloth. Let sit for 5–10 minutes, then wipe clean and rinse with water.
  • 2. Check water temperature: Use cool (not hot) water in the reservoir. Very warm water can affect harvest timing.
  • 3. Inspect thickness sensor: Ensure the ice thickness sensor probe is clean and correctly positioned. Adjust if it is too far from the ice surface.
  • 4. Harvest motor: If the ejector or harvest mechanism does not move during harvest, test and replace the harvest motor assembly as needed.

Tip: Regular descaling prevents ice from bonding too strongly to the evaporator.
