Unit forms ice on evaporator but does not release it into the bin

• Clean evaporator: Remove mineral scale from the evaporator with a vinegar solution and soft brush. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Check harvest motor: Observe whether the tray or grid moves during harvest. If not, test and replace the harvest motor assembly.
• Sensor check: Ensure the evaporator sensor is properly attached and reading correctly so the control knows when to initiate harvest.
• Technician note: On models using hot gas defrost for harvest, a weak or stuck hot gas valve can prevent proper release and requires professional service.
