Microwave displays dE or DE and will not start; often appears when the door is not fully closed.

Safety first: Unplug the microwave before any internal inspection.

• Check for obstructions:
  • Inspect the door gasket and latch area for food debris or foreign objects.
  • Clean the latch openings on the cabinet.
• Verify latch engagement:
  • Close the door firmly and evenly; do not slam.
  • Ensure both upper and lower latch hooks engage the cabinet catches.
• Inspect latch hooks:
  • Look for bent or cracked plastic hooks on the door.
  • If damaged, replace the door latch assembly.
• Check door switch alignment: If dE persists, the door switch bracket may be misaligned and should be adjusted or replaced.

Do not attempt to bypass door safety switches. If the door cannot be made to close and register properly, contact a technician.
