Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Jammed turntable coupler or roller ring, Loose wiring to turntable motor, Defective control board motor relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before accessing the bottom panel or internal components.
- Check for mechanical obstruction:
- Remove the glass tray and roller ring.
- Inspect for food debris or broken glass around the turntable coupler.
- Ensure the coupler is not cracked and spins freely by hand.
- Test without tray: With the tray removed, run a short test cycle. If E7 does not appear and the coupler turns, the issue may have been a jam.
- Access turntable motor:
- On many Black+Decker models, the motor is mounted under the cavity floor and accessible from the bottom.
- Remove the bottom cover (if present) and locate the small round motor.
- Check wiring connections for looseness or burning.
- Replace motor if seized: If the motor shaft does not turn freely or shows signs of overheating, replace the turntable motor with the correct Black+Decker part.
If E7 continues after motor replacement and wiring checks, the control board motor relay may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
