This is usually a feature, not a fault.

  • Disable child lock:
    • On many Black+Decker models, press and hold STOP/CANCEL for 3–5 seconds until the lock icon or message disappears.
    • Alternatively, press and hold 0 or another designated key as specified in your manual.
  • Test operation:
    • After unlocking, try entering a cook time and pressing START.
