Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave from the mains. Microwaves contain high-voltage components that can retain charge even when unplugged. Do not touch the high-voltage capacitor or magnetron area unless you are trained.
This error usually indicates the control board is not seeing the correct door switch status.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Inspect the plastic latch hooks on the door for cracks or wear. If they are loose or broken, the door will not actuate the switches correctly.
- Inspect door switches: Remove the outer cabinet (after unplugging). Locate the door interlock switch cluster near the door latch. There are typically 2–3 microswitches (primary, secondary, and monitor). Check for loose mounting screws or bent brackets.
- Test switches with a multimeter: Disconnect one wire from each switch. In the door-closed position, the primary and secondary switches should show continuity (0 Ω) and open when the door is opened. Replace any switch that does not change state correctly.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the switches to the control PCB for burnt, loose, or broken connectors. Reseat any loose plugs.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the cabinet, plug in, and test operation. If E01 persists with known-good switches and wiring, the control PCB may be faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
