Microwave shows E08 and does not start; grill or convection functions may be disabled on combi models.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave and allow it to cool completely before inspection.
- Check ventilation and fan: Ensure vents are not blocked and that the convection/grill fan (if fitted) runs freely. Clean any heavy grease buildup around the grill element area.
- Locate grill/convection thermostats: These are usually mounted near the grill element or on the top of the cavity. Inspect for signs of overheating or damage.
- Test thermostats/sensors: With wires removed, check continuity of thermostats with a multimeter. Normally closed devices should show continuity at room temperature. Replace any open devices that should be closed.
- Replace faulty sensor: If your Bush combi microwave uses a thermistor-type sensor for grill/convection, test its resistance and replace if out of specification.
If E08 persists after replacing faulty thermostats/sensors and ensuring airflow, the control PCB may be misreading temperature and should be checked by a technician.
