Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Stripped or worn turntable coupler, Obstruction under turntable, Faulty wiring to turntable motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before working underneath or inside the cabinet.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean any spilled food or debris. Ensure the roller ring wheels turn freely and are not broken.
- Inspect coupler: The plastic coupler that fits onto the motor shaft can crack. Remove it and check for splits or rounding of the drive slot. Replace if worn.
- Access motor: Turn the microwave over (protecting the cabinet finish) and remove the bottom cover if accessible. Locate the turntable motor.
- Test motor: Disconnect the motor and check its resistance with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also check for signs of overheating or water ingress.
- Replace motor: Remove mounting screws, fit the new Bush-compatible turntable motor, reconnect wiring, and reassemble. Test rotation with an empty tray before normal use.
