How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before removing the control panel.
- Dry out moisture: If steam or liquid has recently contacted the control panel, unplug the unit and let it dry for several hours. Do not use a hair dryer or heat gun directly on the panel.
- Clean the surface: Wipe the keypad with a soft, slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the membrane.
- Reseat keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel and carefully disconnect and reconnect the keypad ribbon cable to the main board. Ensure it is fully seated and not corroded.
- If certain keys never work: The membrane keypad is likely worn out. Replace the control panel/keypad assembly with the correct Oster part for your model.
