Possible Causes

Open grill heating element, Failed convection heater, Faulty heater relay on control PCB, Burnt wiring to heater assembly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect from mains. Heating elements and internal wiring can be live and very hot.

  • Step 1 – Visual inspection: Remove the outer cabinet. Locate the grill element at the top of the cavity and, if present, the convection heater around the fan. Look for broken coils, burn marks, or disconnected wires.
  • Step 2 – Check wiring and connectors: Ensure all spade connectors to the heater terminals are tight and not oxidized. Replace any burnt connectors and damaged wires with high-temperature rated cable.
  • Step 3 – Test heater resistance: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced with a compatible Severin part.
  • Step 4 – Inspect control board relays: Look for signs of overheating or cracked solder joints on the heater relay. Resolder minor cracks if you are experienced; otherwise, replace the PCB.
  • Step 5 – Reassemble and test: After replacing any faulty parts, reassemble and test grill/convection with an oven-safe dish. If E06 persists, seek professional service.
