Possible Causes
Unstable household mains supply, Overloaded circuit sharing high-power appliances, Loose mains plug or socket, Faulty internal mains filter connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the microwave before inspecting plugs or internal wiring.
- Step 1 – Use a dedicated outlet: Plug the Severin microwave directly into a wall socket, not a multi-plug or extension. Avoid sharing the circuit with other high-power devices (kettle, toaster, heater).
- Step 2 – Check plug and socket: Inspect for heat discoloration or looseness. Replace damaged sockets or plugs.
- Step 3 – Inspect internal connections: With the cabinet removed, verify that all mains connectors on the filter board and control PCB are firmly seated and not oxidized.
- Step 4 – Monitor supply voltage: If possible, have an electrician measure the supply voltage under load. Persistent low or fluctuating voltage should be corrected at the electrical installation.
- Step 5 – Service if persistent: If E09 appears even with stable power, the control board’s voltage sensing circuit may be defective and require replacement.
