Possible Causes
Stuck keypad button, Corrupted control logic, Damaged membrane contacts, Moisture under keypad overlay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains before removing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Try standard child lock reset: On many Severin models, press and hold the STOP/CANCEL or a specific key combination (refer to user manual) for 3–5 seconds to toggle the child lock.
- Step 2 – Clean keypad surface: Wipe the keypad with a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Do not allow liquid to seep around the edges.
- Step 3 – Check for stuck keys: Gently press each button individually to feel for sticking. If a key feels permanently pressed, the membrane may be damaged.
- Step 4 – Inspect ribbon and panel: Remove the control panel, reseat the keypad ribbon cable, and check for corrosion or moisture. Allow to dry completely if moisture is present.
- Step 5 – Replace keypad assembly: If E11 persists and keys remain unresponsive, replace the membrane keypad or full control panel assembly.
