Possible Causes
Failed mode relay on PCB, Burnt relay contacts, Damaged mode selection circuitry, Cold solder joints on relay pins
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains before accessing the control board.
- Step 1 – Reset control: Unplug for 10 minutes and reconnect. Attempt to select different modes (microwave, grill, combination) to see if any work.
- Step 2 – Inspect control PCB: Remove the control panel and examine the relays (small rectangular components). Look for discoloration, cracking, or burnt smell.
- Step 3 – Check solder joints: Inspect the underside of the PCB for cracked or dull solder joints on relay pins. Resolder if you are experienced with electronics.
- Step 4 – Replace faulty relay/board: If a relay is suspected faulty, it can be replaced with an identical part, but most users will replace the entire control PCB for reliability.
