Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Broken or stripped turntable coupler, Jammed turntable due to misaligned roller ring, Faulty turntable motor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before working underneath or inside the cabinet.
Checks:
- 1. Remove and clean: Take out the glass tray and roller ring. Clean both and the cavity floor. Check for food debris or broken glass that may jam rotation.
- 2. Inspect coupler: Check the plastic coupler that fits into the motor shaft. Ensure it is not cracked or stripped and that it sits firmly.
- 3. Test without load: With the tray removed, plug in and start a short cycle. Observe whether the coupler turns. If it does, the issue is with the tray or ring; if not, the motor or wiring is suspect.
- 4. Motor access (for DIYers): Unplug, remove the bottom panel (on countertop models) to access the turntable motor. Check for loose connectors and test the motor for continuity with a multimeter.
If the motor is open-circuit or seized, replace it with a compatible Vida turntable motor. Ensure the new motor is mounted in the same orientation and that the coupler engages properly.
