Possible Causes

Failed cavity thermostat, Blocked top or rear vents, Defective cavity temperature sensor (if equipped), Fan not running at full speed

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the microwave and allow it to cool completely.

Steps:

  • 1. Ventilation: Ensure there is proper clearance around the microwave as specified by Vida. Remove any items blocking vents.
  • 2. Clean filters (over-the-range models): Remove and clean grease filters and check any charcoal filters for blockage.
  • 3. Cool-down: Leave the door open for 30–60 minutes to allow internal components to cool, then test again.

If E09 reappears quickly, the cavity thermostat or sensor may be faulty, or the fan may not be moving enough air. These components are inside the cabinet and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
