Possible Causes

Open grill heating element, Failed convection fan motor (if equipped), Faulty heater relay on control board, High-limit thermostat open on heater circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the microwave and allow all internal parts to cool before inspection.

Checks:

  • 1. Visual inspection: Look at the grill element inside the cavity for visible breaks, burn spots, or sagging.
  • 2. Fan operation: In convection mode, listen for the convection fan. If silent, the fan motor may be faulty.
  • 3. Overheat reset: Some models have a manual-reset thermostat accessible from the rear. Consult your Vida manual; if present, press the reset button after cooling.

Testing the element and thermostats requires a multimeter and access behind the cavity liner. If E13 persists, have a technician test and replace the grill element, convection fan, or associated thermostats.
