Possible Causes

Failed exhaust fan motor, Stuck fan speed relay on control board, Loose fan wiring harness, Obstructed blower wheel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker or unplug the unit before inspection.

Steps:

  • 1. Check fan settings: Cycle through fan speeds on the control panel to see if any setting works.
  • 2. Listen for noise: If the motor hums but the fan does not move air, the blower wheel may be jammed.
  • 3. Access blower (for DIYers): Remove the top grille and blower cover (per Vida instructions). Inspect the blower wheel for obstructions and ensure it spins freely.
  • 4. Wiring: Check that the fan motor connectors are secure.

If the motor is seized or open-circuit, replace the exhaust fan motor assembly. If the fan runs constantly regardless of settings, the control board relay is likely stuck and the board will need replacement.
