How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Press STOP and unplug the microwave immediately when you see sparks.
Steps:
- 1. Remove metal: Take out any metal utensils, twist ties, or foil. Use only microwave-safe containers.
- 2. Clean thoroughly: Wipe the interior walls, ceiling, and floor with a mild detergent solution to remove grease and burnt-on food. Dry completely.
- 3. Inspect waveguide cover: If the cover is burned, bubbled, or has holes, it must be replaced before further use.
If arcing continues after cleaning and replacing the waveguide cover, there may be damage to the cavity coating or internal components. Have a technician inspect the unit.
