Possible Causes
Inner pot not in place or empty, Burnt food stuck to bottom causing hot spots, Faulty thermal fuse or thermostat not opening correctly, Blocked ventilation around base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately unplug the cooker and do not touch the hot surfaces until cooled.
- Check inner pot and contents: Ensure the inner pot is installed and contains food or water when starting a program. Never run the cooker empty.
- Clean the pot bottom: Remove any burnt or caramelized residue from the inner pot base. A dirty base can cause localized overheating and trigger E3.
- Inspect ventilation: Make sure the cooker is placed on a hard, flat surface with at least 10 cm clearance around it. Clear any obstructions from the bottom vents.
- Reset and test: After the unit cools completely (30–60 minutes), plug it back in and try a low‑temperature program (e.g., WARM or YOGURT). If E3 appears immediately, the thermal protection circuit may be faulty.
- Internal check (technician): Remove the bottom cover and inspect the thermal fuse and bimetal thermostat attached to the heating plate. Replace any open or heat‑damaged components with Binatone‑specified parts.
