Possible Causes
Worn or incorrectly installed silicone sealing ring, Steam release valve stuck in open position, Damaged float valve or gasket, Cracked inner lid or lid body
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool before disassembling lid components.
- Check sealing ring installation: Remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid and reinstall it evenly in the groove. Ensure it is not twisted.
- Inspect for wear: Look for flattening, cracks, or hardening of the sealing ring. Replace with a genuine Binatone sealing ring if any damage is found.
- Clean float valve: Remove the float valve pin and its small silicone gasket (if accessible). Clean both parts and the valve channel to remove food residue. Reassemble correctly.
- Verify steam release position: Ensure the steam release knob or lever is set to the “SEAL” or pressure position, not “VENT”.
- Test with water: Add water and run a short pressure cycle. If steam continues to escape around the lid or E5 returns, the lid assembly or pressure sensor may require replacement.
