Possible Causes
Open heating element under inner pot, Burnt connector at heating element terminals, Faulty triac or relay on main control PCB, Blown thermal fuse in series with heater
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains and wait for the cooker to cool before opening the base.
- Visual inspection: Remove the bottom cover and inspect the circular heating element around the base of the inner pot. Look for burnt spots, broken terminals, or discolored wiring.
- Check connectors: Ensure the spade connectors on the heating element are tight and free of corrosion or burning. Reseat any loose connectors.
- Test continuity (technician): Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the heating element terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Inspect thermal fuse: Locate the thermal fuse attached to the heating plate wiring. If it is open, replace it with the same rating specified by Binatone and investigate the cause of overheating.
- PCB check: If the heater and fuse are good, the main control PCB triac/relay may be defective and the PCB should be replaced.
