Stuck Lid Lock / Float Valve Not Dropping
Lid will not open after cooking; it feels jammed even after the cooker has cooled.

Possible Causes
Residual pressure inside cooker, Float valve stuck in raised position due to food residue, Damaged lid lock mechanism, Warped lid components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Never force the lid open if there is any chance the cooker is still under pressure.
- Check pressure indicator: Ensure the float valve or pressure indicator pin has dropped fully. If not, gently tap it with a spoon handle to free it.
- Release residual steam: Carefully move the steam release valve to the VENT position while keeping hands away from the steam path.
- Cool completely: Allow the cooker to sit unplugged for at least 30–60 minutes, then try opening the lid again.
- Clean valve and lock: Once open, remove and clean the float valve and lid lock area to remove any dried food causing sticking.
- Replace lock parts: If the mechanical lock is bent or broken, replace the lid lock assembly or complete lid as per Binatone parts catalog.
