Multicooker powers on but will not start any program; pressing START does nothing or beeps without beginning cooking.

Safety first: Unplug the cooker before mechanical inspection.

• Confirm lid closure: Close the lid firmly until you hear a click. On pressure models, ensure the lid is aligned with the lock marks.
• Check for obstructions: Inspect the lid hinge and lock area for rice grains or debris preventing full closure. Clean thoroughly.
• Test other buttons: If other keys respond but START does not, the keypad may be partially faulty. Lightly press START multiple times to see if it responds intermittently.
• Inspect lid switch (technician): Access the lid microswitch from the top housing. Test continuity with a multimeter when the lid is closed. Replace the lid switch if it does not change state.
• PCB replacement: If the lid switch and keypad are functional but the cooker still refuses to start, the main control PCB may need replacement.
