E7 error appears and the cooker stops heating or never reaches set temperature.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspecting the lid or hinge wiring. Allow the cooker to cool completely.
- 1. Inspect lid sensor area: On many Chefman multicookers, the lid sensor is mounted under the inner lid or near the steam vent. Check for visible damage or melted plastic.
- 2. Check lid harness: Follow the small multi-wire harness from the lid through the hinge into the body. Look for pinched, cut, or broken wires, especially where the lid flexes.
- 3. Reseat connectors: With the bottom or side cover removed, locate the lid harness connector on the main PCB. Unplug and replug it several times to clean contacts.
- 4. Test sensor resistance: Disconnect the lid sensor and measure resistance across its leads at room temperature. Compare to the bottom sensor value; a completely open or near-zero reading indicates failure.
- 5. Replace faulty sensor or harness: Install a new Chefman-compatible lid NTC sensor or lid wiring harness if damage is found. Route the harness to avoid sharp bends.
If the sensor and wiring are intact but E7 persists, the control board's sensor input circuit may be defective and require replacement.
