Chefman
Pressure Not Building / Steam Leak
Multicooker heats but never reaches pressure; steam constantly escapes from the lid area.

Possible Causes
Damaged or stretched silicone sealing ring, Steam release valve not set to Sealing position, Debris on lid or pot rim preventing seal, Cracked or worn float valve silicone cap
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands and face away from escaping steam. Turn off and unplug the cooker before inspecting the lid.
- 1. Verify valve position: Ensure the steam release valve is set to the Sealing position (not Venting) according to your Chefman model’s markings.
- 2. Inspect sealing ring: Remove the silicone ring from the lid. Check for cracks, hardening, or deformation. Replace if it is loose, stretched, or damaged.
- 3. Clean lid and rim: Thoroughly clean the stainless rim of the cooker body and the underside of the lid where the ring contacts. Even small food particles can prevent sealing.
- 4. Check float valve cap: Inspect the small silicone cap on the float valve pin. If it is cracked or missing, replace it with a compatible Chefman float valve cap.
- 5. Test with water: Reassemble and run a pressure test with 2 cups of water. If steam still leaks heavily, the lid assembly or inner pot rim may be warped and require replacement.
