Possible Causes
Dry cooking without enough liquid, Inner pot not in place or not making good contact, Faulty thermal fuse or bimetal thermostat, Blocked ventilation causing overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooker and let it cool completely. Do not bypass safety devices.
- Check cooking conditions: Ensure you always use the required minimum amount of liquid for pressure or high-heat programs. Never operate without the inner pot.
- Inspect inner pot: Make sure the pot is not deformed and sits flat on the heating plate. Replace if the bottom is warped.
- Clean heating plate: Wipe away any burnt food or oil from the heating plate and sensor area. Debris can cause hot spots.
- Ventilation: Confirm that the cooker has adequate space around it (at least several centimeters on all sides) and that bottom vents are not blocked by cloths or objects.
- Internal safety devices (advanced): Remove the bottom cover and locate the thermal fuse and bimetal thermostat attached to the heating plate. Check for signs of overheating or loose mounting. A blown thermal fuse must be replaced with the same rating.
If E5 recurs under normal cooking conditions, have the thermal protection components and main control PCB inspected and replaced if necessary.
